Corporate Site for a Pilates Studio Operator — Building the Face of the Company, Not the Studio

Corporate site — a company and a brand do not do the same job

A corporate website proposal for a company running personal pilates studios for women and an instructor training school. The brand site was already in good order, with its own recruitment and franchise pages. What this project builds is the face of the company that sits above them.

Why a separate company site is needed

• A prospective franchise owner is looking at the company, not at a studio
• Head-office and store-development candidates do not apply through an instructor recruitment page
• Media and financial institutions need a place where they can look the company up

So instructor recruitment stays with the brand, and the corporate side is narrowed to the company, its philosophy, its representative, its figures, and head-office hiring. Dividing the roles is itself the site structure.

On the design

1. White ground, generous margins, serif type

A studio site needs the force that carries a visitor to a trial booking. A company site needs the quiet that lets someone read calmly. Same company, different composition.

2. Colours taken from the images we were given

The reds were sampled from the two images the client sent and used as they actually are. A control at the top right lets the depth of red be switched on the page, so the two impressions can be compared directly.

3. The company, seen in figures

Number of studios, training-school locations, and the number the company is working towards. Figures are the first thing someone researching a company checks, so they sit high on the front page.

Shape of the proposal

• 14 pages; CMS at no charge (our own VosCMS — no licence fee, no theme purchase)
• Server, SSL and the desired domain free for the first year
• One year of maintenance at no charge after launch — copy corrections, adding news and press coverage, fault response
• A corporate logo was proposed alongside the site
